ST_ALLURE è un fashion brand nato all’interno della ROYAL HOUSE OF ALLURE, la casa rifugio per persone LGBTQIA+ a Lagos in Nigeria.
Due designer si occupano della ideazione dei modelli, quindi due sarti confezionano gli abiti e altri artigiani le scarpe e gli accessori. Tutta la catena si svolge all’interno della Royal House of Allure. I tessuti e gli altri materiali provengono dai mercati locali.
La ROYAL HOUSE OF ALLURE da anni garantisce un posto sicuro a molte persone LGBTQIA+ nigeriane gettate sulla strada dalle loro famiglie a causa del loro orientamento sessuale. ST_ALLURE permette loro di lavorare e mantenersi. Al momento la clientela è prevalentemente composta da persone che già conoscono la loro realtà, ma il progetto è quello di aprire un punto vendita a Lagos, far conoscere il brand e assicurare il finanziamento della casa rifugio, che potrà così continuare ad accogliere e curare persone in condizione di estrema vulnerabilità.
Crediamo che, aldilà del suo enorme valore sociale e della prospettiva di indipendenza economica che offre agli ospiti della House of Allure, questo sia un progetto affascinante, e siamo molto content* e orgoglios* di presentarvelo.
Anche per questo la Royal House Of Allure non può chiudere, anche per questo chiediamo il vostro sostegno economico. Abbiamo già fatto molto raccogliendo 3800,00€, ma ne mancano ancora 3200,00€ e la data in cui dovranno lasciare la vecchia casa si avvicina. L’agenzia immobiliare ha chiesto il pagamento anticipato di un intero anno di affitto, da saldare il giorno stesso in cui entreranno nella nuova casa.

ST_ALLURE is a fashion brand born inside the ROYAL HOUSE OF ALLURE, the shelter for LGBTQIA + people in Lagos, Nigeria.
Two designers take care of the creation of the patterns, then two tailors make the clothes and other craftsmen the shoes and the accessories. The entire production process takes place inside the Royal House of Allure. The fabrics and other materials come from local markets.
The ROYAL HOUSE OF ALLURE has for years been providing a safe place for many Nigerian LGBTQIA + people who have been thrown onto the street by their families due to their sexual orientation. ST_ALLURE allows them to work and support themselves. At the moment clients are mainly people who already know their reality, but the project is to open a store in Lagos, make the brand known and ensure the financing of the shelter house, which will thus be able to continue to welcome and treat extremely vulnerable people.
We believe that, beyond its enormous social value and the prospect of economic independence it offers to the guests of the House of Allure, this is a fascinating project, and we are very happy and proud to present it to you.
This is also why the Royal House Of Allure cannot close, and this is also why we ask for your financial support. LA HOUSE OF ALLURE È STATA SFRATTATA. LA VITA DI 10 PERSONE LGBTQAI+ È IN PERICOLO.
Gli amici ospitati nella casa rifugio per persone LGBTQ di Lagos, che da anni sosteniamo, sono costretti a cercare un altro alloggio, perchè il contratto di affitto non verrà rinnovato. Entro Ottobre 2022 dovranno trasferirsi in un’altra casa, dove vivere in pace e, se vogliono sopravvivere, anche in anonimato.
Nel 2020 li abbiamo conosciuti e aiutati in fretta e furia a sostenere le spese per trasferirsi in un quartiere residenziale di Lagos. Nel posto dove avevano vissuto fino ad allora erano stati scoperti, e dovevano fuggire alle violenze che stavano subendo intorno e fin dentro la casa. Nel giro di un mese abbiamo raccolto i soldi che mancavano per l’affitto del nuovo rifugio, ma quest’anno il contratto annuale non verrà rinnovato, probabilmente anche stavolta perché sono stati individuati come omosessuali.
Tramite l’agente immobiliare hanno saputo che la loro presenza non è più gradita. I vicini si sono accorti che ad abitare la villetta sono solo uomini, e probabilmente sono iniziati i sospetti. A prescindere dal fatto che hanno già ricevuto la notifica che il contratto non verrà rinnovato, quel posto non è più sicuro per loro.
Purtroppo secondo le notizie che ci arrivano, la condizione delle persone LGBTQ in Nigeria continua a peggiorare. Riceviamo video di violenze e richieste di aiuto per ritrovare gay scomparsi. La legge prevede che tu sia colto durante un rapporto omosessuale per essere incriminato, ma in realtà basta un sospetto per rendere la tua vita un inferno, dove chiunque può pedinarti, picchiarti, rapirti e violentarti. E quando si viene sorpresi, ci raccontano, si spera di finire nelle mani della polizia, che almeno ti sottrae a quelle della folla inferocita.
Ultimamente anche la situazione delle persone crossdresser è peggiorata. Fino a poco tempo fa godevano di una relativa accettazione grazie alla loro notorietà e alla fama di personaggi eccentrici, ora pare che il vento della repressione abbia iniziato a soffiare anche per loro. È un brutto segno, che evidenzia come in Nigeria il rifiuto della diversità stia dilagando, anche nei campi dello show business e della cultura.
Questa è la terza raccolta fondi che lanciamo per sostenere la ROYAL HOUSE OF ALLURE, ma in questo caso come due anni fa dobbiamo attivare una procedura d’urgenza. Se davvero come pare gli abitanti della casa sono sospettati di essere gay, la violenza ai loro danni potrebbe iniziare in ogni momento. Sappiamo come siano stati prudenti, come pochissime persone conoscessero l’indirizzo della House e come abbiano cercato in ogni modo di evitare problemi col vicinato, ma il clima di sospetto e di odio è troppo forte. Ecco perchè chiediamo il vostro AIUTO e SOSTEGNO.

THE ROYAL HOUSE OF ALLURE HAS BEEN EVICTED. TEN LGBTQA+ PEOPLE’S LIFE IS IN DANGER.
Our friends living in the shelter house for LGBTQ people in Lagos are forced to search a new accommodation, because the rent contract won’t get renewed. By October 2022 they have to move to another house to live in peace and, if they want to survive, even in anonymity.
We first met them in 2020, and helped them in a hurry to pay the expenses of moving to a residential area of Lagos. In the place where they were then living they had been discovered, and fleeing the violence they were experiencing around and into the house was dramatically urgent. Within a month we collected part of the money they were in need for the rent of the new shelter, the annual contract of which won’t get renewed this year, probably because they have been identified as homosexual.
They learnt through the rent agent that their presence is no longer welcome. The neighbors realized that just men were inhabiting the house, and probably started to suspect . Later then they also received the notification the contract won’t get renewed, anyway that place is no longer safe for them.
According to news, the condition of LGBTQ people in Nigeria keeps on getting worse. We often get video of violence and calls for help to find missing gays. The law requires you to be caught in a homosexual act to be indicted, but actually a suspect is enough to make your life a living hell, where anyone can stalk, beat, kidnap and rape you. And many Nigerian gays usually tell us that if they catch you it is better to get into the hands of the police, that at least subtract you from the ones of the angry crowd.
Lately the situation of crossdresser people has also worsened. Until recent times they were relatively accepted due to their fame of eccentric characters, but now it seems that the wind of repression has started to blow for them as well. It is a bad sign, which shows that in Nigeria the rejection of diversity is spreading, even in show business and culture.
This is the third fundraising we launch to support the ROYAL HOUSE OF ALLURE. This time, like two years ago, we have to activate an emergency procedure. If the inhabitants of the house are really suspected of being gay, violence against them could begin at any time. We know how they have been cautious, how very few people knew the address of the house and how they tried in every way to avoid problems with the neighborhood, but the climate of suspicion and hate is too strong. That’s why we ask for your HELP and SUPPORT.

LA MAISON ROYALE D’ALLURE A ÉTÉ EXPULSÉE. LA VIE DE DIX PERSONNES LGBTQA+ EST EN DANGER.
Nos amis vivant dans la maison d’accueil pour personnes LGBTQ à Lagos sont obligés de chercher un nouveau logement, car le contrat de loyer ne sera pas renouvelé. D’ici octobre 2022, ils doivent déménager dans une autre maison pour vivre en paix et, s’ils veulent survivre, même dans l’anonymat.
Nous les avons rencontrés pour la première fois en 2020 et les avons aidés à payer les frais de déménagement dans un quartier résidentiel de Lagos. À l’endroit où ils vivaient alors, ils avaient été découverts, et fuir la violence qu’ils subissaient autour et dans la maison était dramatiquement urgent. En l’espace d’un mois, nous avons collecté une partie de l’argent dont ils avaient besoin pour le loyer du nouveau refuge, dont le contrat annuel ne sera pas renouvelé cette année, probablement parce qu’ils ont été identifiés comme homosexuels.
Ils ont appris par l’intermédiaire de l’agent de location que leur présence n’est plus la bienvenue. Les voisins ont réalisé que seuls les hommes habitaient la maison et ont probablement commencé à soupçonner. Plus tard, ils ont également reçu la notification que le contrat ne sera pas renouvelé, de toute façon cet endroit n’est plus sûr pour eux.
Selon les nouvelles, la condition des personnes LGBTQ au Nigeria ne cesse de s’aggraver. Nous recevons souvent des vidéos de violence et des appels à l’aide pour retrouver des homosexuels disparus. La loi exige que vous soyez pris dans un acte homosexuel pour être inculpé, mais en fait un suspect est suffisant pour faire de votre vie un enfer, où n’importe qui peut vous traquer, vous battre, vous kidnapper et vous violer. Et beaucoup de gays nigérians nous disent généralement que s’ils vous attrapent, il vaut mieux se mettre entre les mains de la police, qui au moins vous soustraire de ceux de la foule en colère.
Dernièrement, la situation des travestis s’est également aggravée. Jusqu’à récemment, ils étaient relativement acceptés en raison de leur renommée de personnages excentriques, mais maintenant il semble que le vent de la répression ait commencé à souffler pour eux aussi. C’est un mauvais signe, qui montre qu’au Nigeria, le rejet de la diversité se répand, même dans le show business et la culture.
Il s’agit de la troisième collecte de fonds que nous lançons pour soutenir la MAISON ROYALE D’ALLURE. Cette fois, comme il y a deux ans, nous devons activer une procédure d’urgence. Si les habitants de la maison sont vraiment soupçonnés d’être homosexuels, la violence contre eux pourrait commencer à tout moment. Nous savons à quel point ils ont été prudents, combien très peu de gens connaissaient l’adresse de la maison et comment ils ont essayé par tous les moyens d’éviter les problèmes avec le quartier, mais le climat de suspicion et de haine est trop fort. C’est pourquoi nous vous demandons votre AIDE et votre SOUTIEN.

La RHOA ha ancora bisogno di noi. L’anno di affitto pagato in buona parte con la sottoscrizione dell’anno scorso sta per scadere, e raccogliere tutta la somma necessaria a pagarne un altro è impossibile per i suoi abitanti, molti dei quali sono giovanissimi, hanno intrapreso percorsi di studio e sono ancora troppo fragili per entrare nel mondo del lavoro in un paese persecutorio come la Nigeria. La RHOA rischia di essere cacciata dalla sua sede, e i suoi ospiti di tornare per strada alla mercé dello stigma sociale e della polizia.
Aiutiamo le nostre sorelle e i nostri fratelli nigeriani a preservare vita e salute. Rendiamoci complici di una impresa titanica come quella di permettergli di coltivare una speranza. Offriamo loro la percezione dell’esistenza e dello spirito di solidarietà della comunità internazionale LGBTQIA.

RHOA still needs us. La sottoscrizione si è messa in marcia ed i contributi hanno iniziato ad arrivare. Non con la velocità esplosiva dell’anno scorso, quando vi raccontavamo di una situazione di assoluta emergenza, di inseguimenti per strada e di aggressioni sotto casa, ma vorremmo spiegarvi come supportare la Royal House of Allure oggi non è meno importante.Questa comunità sta portando avanti un progetto di enorme valore, che senza il nostro contributo rischia di morire. Se i nostri amici LGBT nigeriani hanno una speranza di sfuggire al loro destino è proprio partendo da progetti come questo, che li protegge, li guarisce dal terrore e li mette forse in grado di difendersi, scegliere, costruire un futuro se non libero almeno consapevole.Come società civile e comunità LGBT solidale non possiamo lavarcene le mani. LA ROYAL HOUSE OF ALLURE RACCONTATA DAL SUO FONDATORE Mr. MORRISON.
Conosciamo la Royal House of Allure e il suo responsabile Mr Morrison (Morris) da circa un anno, e praticamente ogni giorno impariamo qualcosa di nuovo.
Pensavamo di sapere già molto e di avere tutti gli strumenti necessari per parlarvi di loro e chiedervi di sostenere questo progetto. Ma anche in questi giorni Morris ci ha raccontato altri dettagli, e li vogliamo condividere. Le stesse cose che racconta in questo video, che speriamo più persone possibile capiranno.
Perché il quartiere dove vivevano fino all’anno scorso era diventato così pericoloso? Perché a causa del Coronavirus la casa si era affollata all’inverosimile, e tante persone sono più difficili da nascondere che poche. Oltre al fatto che i “nuovi” non avevano ancora ben assimilato le regole della casa, che prevedono comportamenti liberi all’interno ma molto controllati all’esterno, e non volendolo hanno messo in pericolo tutti.
Perché hanno bisogno del nostro supporto per pagare un altro anno di affitto della nuova casa? Perché è molto più cara della vecchia. Il progetto RHOA, ormai attenzionato, per poter proseguire ha dovuto rifugiarsi su un’isola, in una zona residenziale dove ogni casa è un mondo a sé e offre e pretende privacy. Qualsiasi altro posto sarebbe stato ormai altrettanto pericoloso di quello da cui fuggivano.
Ascoltate Morris, vi racconta questo e altro, vi chiede di non lasciare che il progetto muoia, e vi promette che non ve ne pentirete.
Perché, ancora, la comunità LGBTQI intera non è davvero libera se anche solo uno dei suoi membri sparsi nel mondo non ha una possibilità.
THE ROYAL HOUSE OF ALLURE TOLD BY ITS FOUNDER Mr. MORRISON.
We have known the Royal House of Allure and its manager Mr Morrison (Morris) for about a year, and we learn something new practically every day.
We were thinking we already knew a lot and had all the necessary tools to talk to you about everything and ask you to support this project. But even in the last days Morris has told us other details, and we want to share them. The same things he tells in this video, which we hope as many people as possible will understand.
Why had the neighborhood where they lived until last year had become so dangerous? Because due to the Coronavirus the house was crowded, and many people are more difficult to hide than a few. In addition to the fact that the “new ones” had not yet fully assimilated the rules of the house, according to which behaviour has to be very self-controlled outside the walls of the house, and unwillingly they put everyone in danger.
Why do they need our support to pay for another year’s rent for the new home? Because it is much more expensive than the old one. In order to continue, the RHOA project, which is now somehow known and controlled, had to take refuge on an island, in a residential area where each house is a world closed in on itself and offers and demands privacy. Any other place would now be just as dangerous as the one they fled from.
